Expert Staffing is looking for an experienced District Sales Manager for our food service distributing client in South Windsor, CT.

Monday - Friday, $80,000 - $100,000 + commission and benefits

DISTRICT SALES MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The District Sales Manager (DSM) is a sales professional responsible for overseeing sales staff in the selling of the company’s products and services. DSM is responsible for coaching and mentoring sales staff on sales strategy, product knowledge and internal processes. DSM supports sales staff on new business opportunities, and penetration with existing accounts. DSM functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

DISTRICT SALES MANAGER REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The District Sales Manager (DSM) reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DISTRICT SALES MANAGER

· Management of sales staff to include, but not limited to staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.

· Develop and educate sales staff on product knowledge, strategy, techniques, and company policies.

· Research and develop prospect lists, make targeted sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads with sales staff to achieve budgetary goals.

· Manage a base ledger of customers as necessary.

· Target larger opportunities and develop new business based on initiatives.

· Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and establish policies and practices to effectively meet those needs.

· Develop relationships which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally. Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers/vendors and coworkers.

· Participate in planning and execution of company events.

· Develop and execute presentations to sales staff and/or customers.

· Develop and execute fiscal sales and profit budgets.

· Recruitment of new DSR candidates.

· Formulate and analyze competitive information.

· Attend industry shows and events.

· Maintain current knowledge of industry trends that affect targeted markets.

· Conduct periodic customer business reviews.

· Interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and quality manner; ensure customer and vendors' questions are answered accurately and on time.

· Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary based on customer credit terms by working with the credit department, DSR and client.

· Manage customer's complaints, issues, and emergencies.

· Establish and monitor major account prospect lists.

· Represent our company in a professional manner at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES OF THE DISTRICT SALES MANAGER

· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

· At least five (5) years of industry sales experience.

· Strategic leadership ability.

· Previous management experience required.

· Problem solving and negotiation skills.

· Candidate must have an entrepreneurial approach that is imaginative, smart, passionate, and approachable.

· Ability to quickly adjust to new, different, or changing requirements or environments.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

· Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate and mentor staff.

· Experience with administrative duties including but not limited to preparing sales budgets and reports, preparing sales quotes, presentations, and business reviews.

· Strong communication skills: ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams using both written and spoken means.

· Strong Customer Service skills – Experience managing difficult or emotional customer and staff situations. Ability to diffuse customer complaints in a professional manner.

· Strong analytical skills: ability to review, understand and act on reporting.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) required.

· Experience with Trackmax, Prophix, and AS400 a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
